About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) research. You will work within a scientific team to build tools that improve data analysis, interpretation, and workflow efficiency. The role is full-time for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop and document AI-enabled workflows and agents, including large language model applications and programmatic analytical pipelines.
- Collaborate with scientists in DMPK, bioanalytical, and LC-MS fields to turn research questions into data-driven solutions.
- Analyze complex DMPK datasets to evaluate the accuracy, robustness, and scientific utility of your models.
- Document your code, methods, and model assumptions to ensure transparent and responsible use of AI tools.
- Present your findings and project results at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. university, with plans to return to school in the fall.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2027.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, or generative AI.
- Familiarity with tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git, and GitHub.
- Experience working with complex scientific datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Preferred background in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Familiarity with LC-MS, mass spectrometry, or PK/PD modeling is a plus.
