The Engineering Co-Op program at Gibraltar Industries offers hands-on exposure to the full product life cycle within the bridge and highway industry. This program is designed to provide a deep understanding of how product design impacts manufacturability, material requirements, and production outcomes through rotations in Engineering, Estimating, and Operations.
What you'll do#
- Shadow Estimating Technicians to learn the cost-estimating process and understand project feasibility.
- Support entry-level engineering tasks and assist in design work.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and cross-functional discussions.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to support manufacturing processes.
- Engage in root cause analysis, continuous improvement discussions, and safety initiatives.
- Gain exposure to shop floor operations, including observation of production cycles and machine operation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience using AutoCAD; SolidWorks proficiency is preferred.
- Strong foundational skills in geometry and trigonometry.
- A basic understanding of how products are purchased, machined, and fabricated.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a continuous basis and manually push or pull materials.
- Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills.

- Location: North Baltimore, Ohio.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
