About the role#
The Laboratory Technician Co-op position is an entry-level contract role within the Materials Technology team. You will work under the supervision and mentorship of civil and geotechnical engineering professionals to support Quality Assurance and Quality Control testing services.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples to determine engineering properties.
- Conduct standard proctor testing, grain size analysis, moisture content determination, and compressive strength testing.
- Assist with field tasks, site inspections, and the delivery or pickup of samples.
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in the Co-op stream of a civil, geotechnical, or engineering program.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically MS Word and MS Excel.
- Access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 23.7 kg (50 lbs).
- Willingness to work a regular 40-hour work week with the possibility of overtime.
