Indigenous Engineer Intern/co-op

About the role#

GHD is offering a paid internship program for students and recent graduates who self-identify as members of Indigenous communities. This role provides professional experience and mentorship within a multidisciplinary consulting environment, focusing on projects across environment, transportation, water, architecture, and construction inspection sectors.

What you'll do#

• Assist with client, contractor, and internal communications, including the preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting records.
• Participate in project-related site visits and field work to support project understanding.
• Conduct research related to ongoing projects.
• Prepare documentation such as funding applications, project progress reports, completion reports, and memorandums.
• Provide support for project administrative tasks.
• Participate in design and project team meetings.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a post-secondary program, or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience.
• Preference for candidates in engineering, science, or architecture, including majors in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrated interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, or the environment through work, education, or volunteer experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Preference is given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations – status or non-status, Métis, and Inuit).
