About the role#
This Systems Engineering Co-op position supports the Air and Naval Sonar Systems group. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers on mission-critical projects for air and maritime applications. This is a paid, full-time role for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and define system requirements for new and evolving products.
- Support system architecture design, conduct trade studies, and define system interfaces.
- Plan and execute system integration, including lab setup, test planning, and troubleshooting.
- Support qualification and acceptance testing activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Work with internal teams to provide technical support and contribute new ideas.
- Solve complex system-level issues through root cause and trend analysis.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Systems, Electrical, or Computer Engineering program or a related scientific discipline at a recognized university.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct analysis and draw conclusions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with technical writing and documentation.
- Exposure to integration with third-party equipment or system interfaces.
- Interest in learning software and hardware engineering processes, tools, and requirements management software.
- Familiarity with software testing concepts, verification, and validation.
- Familiarity with system development lifecycles and requirements management.
- Experience with or familiarity with AI/ML models.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.

- Compensation: $24.92 - $33.23 per hour, with eligibility for quarterly pay increases.
