    About the role#

    General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Mechanical Intern Engineer for the Summer 2027 term. This paid, full-time position is based on-site in McLeansville, North Carolina. You will work on technical projects that support national security missions and defense programs.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply your classroom knowledge to real-world defense programs.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions for core mission projects.
    • Gain experience working alongside experienced technical staff.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited degree program for Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
    • Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
    • A thorough understanding of engineering technology, concepts, and principles.
    • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

    Location & details#

    • This position is 100% on-site at the McLeansville, NC facility.
    • The internship is full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
    • Compensation is $24.00 to $29.00 per hour.
