About the role#
This internship is based in the Analytical Department within the Pharma Technical Development organization. You will focus on digital sciences, contributing to software applications and data science models that support drug development. You will work on-site in South San Francisco as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
What you'll do#
- Design and build automated data processing workflows.
- Develop visualization dashboards to analyze complex mass spectrometry data.
- Conduct data-driven analyses to benchmark performance metrics like speed and sensitivity.
- Create in-house tools for data extraction and processing to increase throughput.
- Implement information databases and establish standardized operational guidelines.
- Lead or participate in intern committees to coordinate program initiatives.
- Present your project work to senior leaders at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Biophysics.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and work in a self-directed manner.
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Preferred experience includes coding (Python, R, Flask, Django, React), LLM and AI coding agents, mass spectrometry data processing tools, or protein analysis.
Location & details#
- Location: South San Francisco, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid internship with a salary range of $28.00 to $52.00 per hour, plus paid holiday time off.
