About the role#
This is a 12-month paid co-op internship based in Markham, Ontario. You will join the EHS team at GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy, starting in the summer of 2027. This role is full-time and requires you to work on-site up to 5 days per week. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
What you'll do#
- Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from experienced EHS professionals.
- Build your technical expertise and expand your skills in new areas.
- Create and update procedures, presentations, reports, and databases.
- Solve problems and implement new initiatives.
- Collaborate with your immediate team and other organizations.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in an EHS-related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with SharePoint or Smartsheet.
- A valid class G driver license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the Greater Toronto Area.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, independence, and leadership abilities.
- An understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Markham, Ontario.
- Term: 12-month co-op starting Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $26-$29 CAD per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site, up to 5 days per week.
