About the role#
As a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will support the METEM team in optimizing non-traditional machining processes for the global power generation fleet. You will gain hands-on experience in either Electrical Discharge Machining and Fast Hole Drilling or Electrochemical Machining. This role is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Parsippany, New Jersey, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Drive customer satisfaction, quality, and fulfillment by reducing variation in key process parameters.
- Learn and apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste and drive productivity savings.
- Work with complex chemical and mechanical process equipment to resolve technical issues in real-time.
- Build process knowledge to evaluate improvement areas and lead cross-functional teams.
- Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures to ensure safe equipment operation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate engineering program, specifically Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, without rounding.
- A strong interest in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- A self-motivated approach with a desire to take ownership of projects.
