About the role#
The Telecommunications Intern program at GCI provides students with hands-on experience in a real-world business environment. You will work alongside GCI professionals to develop a project that aligns with your interests and the specific needs of your assigned department. This role focuses on Computer Science and Data Analytics.
What you'll do#
- Complete an assigned project according to set directions, timeframes, scope, and budget.
- Participate in research, analysis, and report generation.
- Produce a final project report that outlines your steps and conclusions.
- Maintain a weekly log of activities, including meetings, contacts, and references.
- Meet with your mentor weekly to review project progress.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as a high school junior or senior, or as a college student.
- Minimum age of 14 years.
- A GPA of at least 2.8.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems such as MS Windows or UNIX.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and data entry.
Location & details#
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of this location.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
