About the role#
GBQ Partners is hiring a Winter Intern for our Columbus office. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2028 term. You will work on-site to assist our teams with assurance and tax procedures while gaining hands-on experience in the accounting industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with financial statement audits, reviews, and tax returns.
- Prepare partnership, corporate, and individual tax filings.
- Update depreciation schedules and create financial projections.
- Analyze financial and non-financial data for clients.
- Participate in audit and review reengineering meetings.
- Conduct internet research to support client projects.
- Collaborate with team members to identify client needs and solve problems.
- Manage your workload to meet established budgets and billable hour goals.
- Seek feedback on your performance to improve your technical and professional skills.
- Address conflicts with peers and work effectively in a team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BA or BS program for accounting or a related field.
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and general PC applications.
- Ability to learn new software and technical processes quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Efficient organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable transportation for on-site client work.

- Availability: You must be able to work evenings and weekends based on client demands and the time of year.
