Cybersecurity Intern

About the role#

The Cybersecurity Intern will gain hands-on experience by assisting the security team with monitoring, documentation, and incident triage. This part-time, on-site role runs for the Fall 2026 term, from September through December 2026, requiring 20 to 25 hours per week.

What you'll do#

• Assist in reviewing and documenting low-rated security alerts and incidents.
• Conduct preliminary checks and triage under guidance before escalation.
• Monitor and review logs and alerts from the SIEM, specifically focusing on Microsoft, Azure, Aruba, and Meraki environments.
• Support analysis by noting unusual activity, recurring patterns, and collecting indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Learn how escalation procedures function and how the security team collaborates with IT partners.
• Participate in incident investigation reviews to understand their origin, impact, and resolution.
• Contribute to process documentation for security monitoring and incident response workflows.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of information security principles, including threats, vulnerabilities, and incident response.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams.

• Commitment: Part-time (20–25 hours per week).
• Compensation: Paid internship.
