About the role#
Flexsteel Industries is hiring a Finance & Accounting Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Dubuque, Iowa. This role provides exposure to the financial close process and offers visibility to leadership as you develop your skills. You will gain hands-on experience through project-based work and collaborate across teams to understand how our business functions.
What you'll do#
- Support the financial close process and assist the team in multiple capacities.
- Prepare and analyze reports using Excel, SAP, and other internal tools.
- Review monthly account reconciliations.
- Help prepare and compile financial forecasts.
- Maintain cost accounting deliverables.
- Assist with internal Sarbanes-Oxley audits and annual external audits.
- Complete finance and accounting projects as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and have completed your second year.
- You have a general understanding of accounting and can read financial statements.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
