About the role#
Flagship Labs 111 is seeking a Cell Biology Co-Op to support our research in novel therapeutic modalities. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to characterize heterobifunctional molecules in cancer cell models. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute cell-based experiments to characterize novel molecules.
- Maintain, expand, and qualify a panel of cancer cell lines.
- Plan and run compound treatment experiments, including concentration-response, time-course, and combination studies.
- Conduct cell proliferation and viability assays to evaluate treatment responses.
- Perform molecular assays including Western blotting, qPCR, and ELISA to assess target engagement and pathway modulation.
- Analyze experimental data, generate figures, and interpret results against hypotheses.
- Develop, optimize, and document protocols to ensure reproducibility across studies.
- Maintain detailed records in an electronic lab notebook.
- Present findings to project teams and collaborate with biology and chemistry colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, ideally with cancer cell lines.
- Experience running controlled cell-based experiments involving small-molecule treatments.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, or cell proliferation/viability assays.
- Working knowledge of experimental controls, replicates, dilution calculations, and basic quantitative analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality data.
- Ability to work independently at the bench while communicating observations and uncertainties.
- Preferred: Experience with GraphPad Prism, dose-response curves, and oncology drug discovery.
