Government Relations - Legislative & Regulatory Tracking Intern

About the role#

This internship focuses on building and refining a legislative and regulatory tracking system to support the Government Relations team. You will work on monitoring state and federal policy activity related to solar energy, domestic manufacturing, permitting, and grid policy. The goal is to transform a broad legislative landscape into actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

What you'll do#

• Design and build a comprehensive legislative and regulatory tracking system.
• Develop a prioritization framework to score and rank legislation based on business impact, likelihood of passage, and timeline.
• Create standardized reporting templates and cadences, such as weekly digests and monthly legislative scorecards.
• Utilize AI tools to automate information gathering, flag new bill introductions, and generate initial summaries.
• Identify and analyze emerging policy trends, such as state-level incentive programs or threats to clean energy supply chains.

What you'll need#

• Current Junior or Senior student in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, Law, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex policy developments.
• Proficiency with AI tools and digital platforms for research and system building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate policy content for executive audiences.
• Prior coursework or experience in legislative research, policy analysis, or government relations is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with high attention to detail.

• Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 semester.
• Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.
• Status: Full-time internship.
