AI Intern

About the role#

First Solar is seeking an AI Intern for the Fall 2026 semester to work on-site in Perrysburg, Ohio. This full-time, paid internship offers the opportunity to gain real-world experience by working closely with data scientists on various analytical use cases. Interns are expected to commit to a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of extending through the full semester. Upon completion, you will present your project summary and accomplishments to the leadership team.

What you'll do#

• Develop pipelines to extract significant features from key data sets.
• Build custom analytical tools and contribute to automated scripting for larger software packages.
• Perform data extraction, cleaning, and analysis to provide actionable insights.
• Contribute to feature selection and the development of machine learning models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business needs and perform ad hoc analysis.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Master’s program in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, fulfilling a graduation requirement.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.
• Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Robust knowledge of statistical methods and classification models.
• Demonstrated ability to review coding manuals, understand existing scripts, and create reports or visualizations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft environment technologies, including Windows OS and Office 365.
