About the role#
Felsburg Holt & Ullevig offers a summer internship for students interested in transportation engineering. You will work within our civil design team in Des Moines to gain practical experience with roadway design. You will contribute to real projects while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, analysis, and planning of engineering projects.
- Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for clients and communities.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Use industry software including AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
What you'll need#
- You are an undergraduate student (sophomore or higher) or a graduate student in Transportation Engineering or a related field.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with engineering software.
- Solid mathematics skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for a 3-month internship from June through August 2027.
- Coursework in transportation engineering, prior experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer are preferred.
