About the role#
This summer internship offers practical experience in transportation engineering with a focus on roadway design. You will work on real projects alongside experienced professionals to build technical skills and gain industry insight. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Omaha, Nebraska.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, planning, and analysis of engineering projects.
- Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for clients and communities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Use engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate (sophomore or higher) or graduate student in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Availability for a 3-month term from June through August 2027.
- Strong mathematics skills and clear verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer systems and engineering software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous coursework in transportation engineering is preferred, as is prior experience and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
