About the role#
Felix Construction is hiring an Industrial Controls Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and requires on-site attendance. You will work with the Industrial Controls and Automation team on projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure. This role provides exposure to the full lifecycle of industrial control systems, from initial design and panel fabrication to field commissioning.
What you'll do#
- Use AutoCAD and EPLAN to assist with the design of electrical control panels.
- Work with engineers on integration projects for programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human-machine interfaces (HMI).
- Support panel testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Document design revisions and assist with engineering change management.
- Participate in field installations and startup support as project schedules allow.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of at least one year of college coursework before the internship begins.
- A basic understanding of engineering fundamentals and electrical principles.
