About the role#
The Community Development team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond focuses on building financial capital and workforce pathways for communities in the Fifth District. As an intern, you will support initiatives that address challenges faced by low-to-moderate income households. This program provides an opportunity to gain work experience through project assignments, professional development, and networking while learning about the functions of the Federal Reserve.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and design of departmental resources and programs.
- Support the planning and management of meetings, workshops, conferences, and events.
- Develop marketing and communication materials.
- Prepare resource and handout packets for presentations.
- Tabulate program evaluations and analyze feedback.
- Conduct information searches, verify facts, and provide summaries.
- Assist in coordinating on-site presentations.
- Perform research tasks including literature reviews and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, preferably as a rising junior or senior.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA and significant coursework in economics.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while balancing team and independent work.
- Experience with research techniques and data exploration.
- Familiarity with the Federal Reserve System.
- Background in public engagement or education is preferred.

- Status: Full-time, paid internship at $23.50 per hour.
