About the role#
This summer internship provides students with hands-on experience in construction project management. You will work directly with a project team to learn about the construction process from pre-construction through project closeout. This is a full-time, paid position based in Irving, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Perform quantity takeoffs and maintain material logs.
- Prepare project reports and handle project correspondence.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to determine their suitability.
- Track the status of change orders and Requests for Information.
- Collect, verify, and distribute as-builts.
- Assist with blueprint reading and closeout documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction software such as Blue Beam, Revit, and Procore.
- Experience using computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
