The Human Performance Lab (HPL) Research Internship provides students the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional research setting. Interns contribute directly to ongoing projects, ranging from athletic footwear testing to wearable technology research, ensuring that human performance innovation is driven by real-world data.
What you'll do#
- Assist with human subject data collections and lead body composition assessments.
- Perform data entry and ensure high-level data quality assurance.
- Gain practical experience with strength and cardiovascular performance assessments.
- Learn research operations logistics and collaborate with the HPL team to meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Kinesiology, Nutritional Science, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or a related field.
- A high-level understanding of and passion for sport and human performance.
- Interest in human subjects research or wearable technology.
- Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must be enrolled in a program that provides course credit for this internship, as this is an unpaid position.
- Prior human subjects research experience is preferred.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Requirements: Interns must provide their own laptop, secure their own housing, and fund their own travel, food, and transportation costs.
