Accounting Internship - Summer 2026

About the role#

Everus is seeking an intern for the Summer 2026 term to support our accounting department. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Kansas City, Kansas. The internship runs from May 18, 2026, to August 14, 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist with general accounting tasks including payroll, job costing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Help reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare entries and related work papers.
• Support accounting close processes and internal and external audits.
• Assist with daily reviews of accounts payable entries, purchase order verification, and invoice comparisons.
• Prepare and review documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
• Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred.
