About the role#
ESP Associates is hiring a Transportation Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site at our Arkansas locations. You will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering by supporting infrastructure projects and working with our project teams.
What you'll do#
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Calculate project costs and determine feasibility based on data analysis.
- Create design documents using computer-assisted engineering software.
- Prepare and modify specifications, plans, construction schedules, and environmental impact studies.
- Coordinate project activities with officials, support staff, and subcontractors.
- Meet with clients to discuss project changes and resolve issues.
- Track project progress and prepare activity reports.
- Research regulations, products, and design techniques.
- Create illustrative hand or computer presentation renderings, material boards, and planting plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program at an accredited engineering school.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Comfort with teamwork and professional communication.
- Attention to detail and a flexible approach to problem solving.
