    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid co-op position within the Internal Audit department at Equitable. You will work with the team to evaluate company processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role is designed to help you build a foundation in risk assessment and control testing.

    What you'll do#

    • Test key company controls and processes to ensure compliance with IFRS, OSFI, and CLHIA regulations.
    • Identify the root cause of control deficiencies and evaluate their impact on the business.
    • Recommend process improvements to help remediate identified risks.
    • Review and assess management strategies for remediation.
    • Build and maintain positive working relationships with audit clients.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program with a focus on Business, Accounting, or Internal Audit.
    • Knowledge of business risk, financial controls, and general accounting standards.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Waterloo, Ontario.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
    • Modality: Hybrid. You will work from the office for a minimum of two consecutive days every other week, plus one additional day per month.
    • Eligibility: You must provide proof of enrollment in a formal co-op program to be considered.
