About the role#
We are looking for a Game Design Intern to join the Fortnite Events team. You will help create large scale multiplayer experiences by working with designers, artists, engineers, and producers to prototype, implement, and polish gameplay features for live events.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement gameplay features for live events.
- Prototype dynamic player experiences in a large scale client-server replicated environment.
- Work within level sequences to align keyframed event triggers.
- Coordinate with cinematic artists to manage structure and timing.
- Participate in team playtests and iterate on work based on feedback.
- Communicate progress, updates, and potential risks to stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation for designs, technical adjustments, and reference materials.
What you'll need#
- Practical experience with Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency with Blueprints and the Gameplay Ability System.
- A portfolio of playable projects showing experience across the video game production cycle.
- An interest in Fortnite, specifically live events and narrative content.
- Experience with level design systems such as World Partition, Data Layers, and Level Sequencer.
- Familiarity with basic multiplayer replication.
- Ability to debug systems, troubleshoot problems, and develop test plans.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
