About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Rockville, Maryland. You will work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks. The role introduces you to financial management and prepares you for business operations. You will gain experience in accounting principles and business procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing financial statements and analysis.
- Work closely with rental branches and other departments.
- Support accounting managers with reports.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Manage cash receipts and petty cash.
- Assist with accounting schedules and filing.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's degree program for Accounting or Finance.
- Your expected graduation date must be between December 2027 and May 2028.
- At least 6 months of experience in customer service, leadership, or administration is required. Leadership experience includes clubs, volunteer work, athletics, or military service.
- You must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- A valid driver's license is required. You must pass a background check, including a driving record review (no more than 2 moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years, and no DUI or DWI in the last 3 years).
- You must be flexible to relocate outside the local area or state within 1-3 years for potential promotional opportunities.
- Experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping is preferred.
