About the role#
We are looking for a Specialty Coatings Research and Development Co-Op to join our team in Bedford, Massachusetts. This position runs for 6 months during the Winter 2027 term. You will work with the Innovation, Ceramics, and Coatings groups to help develop next generation products while improving our current processes and metrology systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform materials analysis and characterize test parts for new products.
- Collect and document data for grinding and surface finishing projects.
- Improve existing process and metrology data collection methods.
- Track ceramic materials and update related documentation.
- Organize analysis plans for process optimization studies.
- Explore new materials for potential field applications.
- Update and maintain process documentation for operations and quality teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
- Availability to work on-site from January through June.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
- Ability to perform hands-on lab work while wearing cleanroom PPE.
