About the role#
Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking interns for our 12-week summer program in 2027. You will work within our Energetics Operations to gain hands-on experience in production planning. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Simsbury, Connecticut.
What you'll do#
- Review supply and demand in ERP/MRP systems to support production schedules.
- Monitor raw materials, inventory, and production requirements.
- Track inventory movements and maintain accurate records.
- Identify material requirements and potential shortages that may impact schedules.
- Support the creation, tracking, and prioritization of shop orders and material kits.
- Coordinate with Production, Material Control, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support material flow.
- Maintain Kanban inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve material availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Interest in manufacturing, materials management, production planning, Lean Manufacturing, or ERP/MRP systems.
