About the role#
Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking students for our 2027 summer internship program. This is a 12-week, full-time, paid position based in Simsbury, Connecticut. You will work within our Energetics Operations to support product engineering tasks, including continuous improvement, new product development, and the implementation of Lean methodologies.
What you'll do#
- Assist in solving manufacturing problems and investigating process failures.
- Implement corrective actions to improve production quality.
- Help implement Lean methodologies such as standard work, point of use tooling, and material presentation.
- Interface with production personnel, including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
- Support the development of standard work packages and manufacturing cell design.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate engineering degree program.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Hands-on experience using manufacturing tools is preferred.
