About the role#
Energy Toolbase is hiring interns for the IoT and Controls teams for a 16-month period starting in May 2027. You will work on the Acumen Energy Management system, focusing on hardware interfacing, real-time control operations, and edge computing. This role involves integrating new hardware with our IoT platform and building functions that operate directly at the edge.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and test software features using TypeScript and Python.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, high-level design, code reviews, and documentation.
- Investigate and fix defects found in production or during release cycles.
- Write unit tests for all new functionality.
- Work alongside Product Management, Quality Assurance, and User Experience teams to ship features.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in your 3rd year of a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering program.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, TypeScript/JS, and SQL.
- Familiarity with relational database design and web development.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and Docker containerization.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to code quality.
- Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team.
