Emigrant Bank is seeking a versatile intern to join the Capital Markets department. This full-time, on-site role involves supporting a boutique private bank through analytical and communication-focused tasks. The position offers exposure to various banking functions and requires an individual eager to master complex financial concepts.
What you'll do#
- Prepare materials for Board of Director meetings and quarterly Account Review Committee (ARC) meetings.
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Excel reports regarding banking activity, interest rates, and loan origination.
- Conduct analysis of prospective client portfolios to assist in proposal development.
- Perform Corporate and Municipal Bond credit analysis, ongoing surveillance, and participate as a credit committee member.
- Manage Interest Rate Swap market-to-market and daily margin posting.
- Handle Mortgage Pricing, Bank Liquidity Reporting, and Foreign Currency Hedging.
- Develop knowledge of the BNY Pershing NetX360 custodian platform.
- Prepare regulatory and audit responses for external agencies.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced education is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A desire to work in a demanding environment.
- Eagerness to learn complex financial concepts.
