About the role#
The Emerson Test & Measurement team is looking for an Application Engineering Intern to support customer-focused technical initiatives. This role involves building product demonstrations and Proofs of Concept using NI hardware and software platforms. You will work alongside Application Engineers, Sales, Product Marketing, and R&D teams to help customers address complex engineering challenges. This internship provides exposure to industries such as Life Sciences, Semiconductor, Energy, and Industrial Equipment while you gain experience with automation, FPGA, and data acquisition technologies.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing, building, and optimizing customer-facing demonstrations and Proofs of Concept that showcase Emerson Test & Measurement solutions.
- Support Application Engineers in evaluating customer requirements and identifying appropriate hardware and software solutions.
- Develop and enhance demonstration systems using NI software and hardware platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within demonstrations, Proofs of Concept, and application examples.
- Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, technical workshops, and training activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, power supplies, or data acquisition hardware.
- Familiarity with one or more programming environments such as LabVIEW, Python, C, C++, or C#.
- Basic understanding of engineering measurement systems and instrumentation.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
