About the role#
The Program Oversight and Marketing Compliance Intern will support Medicare Advantage compliance activities. You will research government regulations and CMS guidance to support the review of materials like Evidence of Coverage, Annual Notice of Change, and Summary of Benefits. This role provides practical experience in regulatory interpretation, risk identification, and the preparation of summaries for leadership.
What you'll do#
- Research CMS regulations and Medicare Advantage program guidance.
- Apply research to the review of required marketing materials and document your findings.
- Identify potential compliance risks, gaps, or inconsistencies for the team to review.
- Evaluate materials for alignment with CMS guidance and internal standards.
- Organize review notes, regulatory references, and research summaries.
- Prepare summaries, presentations, and status updates for stakeholders and leadership.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to complete assigned work.
- Participate in team meetings and process discussions regarding Medicare Advantage compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration, public policy, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and experience reviewing complex information or policies.
- Ability to research regulations and source materials accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for organizing and analyzing information.
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare visual updates and presentations.
- Curiosity and a willingness to ask clarifying questions.
- Interest in or experience with automation tools, artificial intelligence, or large language models is a plus.
- Prior experience involving research, analysis, or compliance is preferred.
