About the role#
This internship provides practical, hands-on experience to prepare you for a full-time actuarial career. You will apply actuarial concepts to real business challenges while gaining an understanding of how our company operates. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data for pricing, loss reserving, product development, capital modeling, and reinsurance.
- Update and present reports for various areas of the company.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on assigned topics.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
- Perform duties across the major functional areas of our Actuarial team.
- Attend unit, departmental, and corporate meetings.
- Use company software to complete assignments and manage multiple deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality in all tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an educational degree program (Mathematics, Statistics, or other relevant fields).
- Status as a sophomore, junior, or senior, or enrollment in a graduate program. Rising freshmen who are at least 18 and have completed a vocational insurance-related program with college credits are also eligible.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Ability to work full-time during normal business hours.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and standard software, with internet research experience preferred.
- Ability to proofread documents, perform mathematical computations, and manage multiple projects.
- Capacity to identify consequences of situations and communicate them for decision making.
