About the role#
This internship offers exposure to the mechanical construction business through direct interaction with senior designers, project managers, estimators, and field staff. You will support various departments including prefabrication, building automation controls, and quality assurance. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
Interns work on technical projects and gain hands-on experience in the mechanical HVAC trade. Depending on your experience level, your tasks will include:
- Performing 3D system modeling, load calculations, and system sizing.
- Handling system integration, estimating, and submittal reviews.
- Reporting to a field supervisor for site assignments across the southeastern United States for those with at least four semesters completed.
- Navigating job site locations and learning mechanical trade practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program with at least 4 to 6 semesters completed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong research and internet searching capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with diverse teams, vendors, and clients.
- A commitment to safety, integrity, and high quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive working relationships.
- Physical ability to navigate job sites, including climbing, balancing, and moving up to 75 pounds.
