About the role#
The Elmhurst Park District is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern for the Fall 2026 season. You will support the team in promoting various programs, events, and facilities to the community. This position is a paid, on-site opportunity designed for individuals interested in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, media studies, or public health.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the daily functions of the Marketing & Communications department.
- Write, edit, and proofread materials such as newsletters and news articles.
- Create content for the District website, email communications, and social media channels.
- Photograph and record video at events, programs, and facilities.
- Design basic promotional materials and graphics using established brand standards and Canva.
- Help develop promotional campaigns and ensure all communications remain accurate and consistent.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in marketing, public relations, digital media, or a related field.
- Basic skills in photography, videography, and graphic design.
- Ability to create concise and engaging social media content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Location & details#
- Location: Elmhurst, Illinois (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: 15-19 hours per week with a variable schedule.
- Compensation: $15.25 per hour.
