About the role#
Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Power Systems Engineer Intern for a co-op position. This role focuses on bridging theoretical classroom concepts with hands-on training to address real-world grid modeling challenges. Interns will report to a Transmission Manager and gain experience with the Texas and Eastern Interconnection power systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission and distribution planning studies.
- Perform network-wide steady-state and short-circuit studies.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts, including the development of Python scripts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a PhD degree program in Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of or current enrollment in power systems fundamentals coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
