About the role#
The Power Systems Engineer Intern (Co-Op) supports transmission and distribution planning projects at Electric Power Engineers. This position involves working with the Texas and Eastern Interconnection power systems while reporting to a Transmission Manager. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Austin, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission and distribution planning studies.
- Perform network-wide steady-state and short-circuit studies.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts, including the development of Python scripts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a PhD program in Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of or current enrollment in power systems fundamentals coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
