About the role#
The Office Intern at Electra Grid Solutions provides support for daily office operations, administrative tasks, and front desk responsibilities. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment, with exposure to guest services, operations, and internal team support. This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Greet and welcome visitors and employees as the primary front desk representative during office hours.
- Assist with guest arrivals, providing hospitality and ensuring the lobby remains professional and welcoming.
- Manage office communications by answering phone calls, taking messages, and distributing them to the appropriate parties.
- Provide general administrative support, including printing, filing, and organizing documents.
- Track and organize office supplies, assisting with reordering when necessary.
- Maintain office kitchen inventory and help keep shared office spaces clean and organized.
- Assist with mail, packages, and correspondence, including drop-off, pick-up, and obtaining signatures.
- Coordinate office vendors and service providers under staff guidance.
- Assist with the ordering and tracking of PPE kits for new hires.
- Support meeting preparation, including room setup, clean-up, and the preparation of materials.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
- Ability to follow instructions and multi-task in a professional environment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for supplies and deliveries.
- Previous administrative or customer service experience is considered a plus, though no prior office experience is required.
