The Planning Intern will work collaboratively with project teams to conduct research, develop content, and contribute to client deliverables. This role provides an opportunity to gain firsthand consulting experience while working from the downtown Portland office. The position is part-time, typically requiring 15 to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research using standard methods and best practices.
- Identify, organize, and manage data and information sources.
- Summarize findings into clear tables and charts.
- Prepare sections of written deliverables, including narrative and data visualization, under team direction.
- Assist in the development of presentations.
- Coordinate with project teams to meet project timelines and report on progress.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s-level planning, urban studies, or public policy degree program at an Oregon university.
- Expected graduation date by July 2028.
- Completed coursework in macro and microeconomic theory, land use planning, or transportation planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work on-site at the Portland office for long periods at a computer.

- Location: Portland, Oregon (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (Part-time).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Status: Non-exempt, paid internship.
