About the role#
Night Desk Aides work with the Office of Student Housing and Residence Life to maintain safety and community standards in residence halls. You will serve as a visible presence at night, monitor building access, and work alongside professional staff to handle daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Monitor building entrances and exits to validate individuals entering and leaving.
- Support residence hall safety and security following SHRL guidelines.
- Answer the desk phone and respond to questions from students and visitors.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, documentation, and general organization.
- Assist professional and student staff with daily departmental operations.
What you'll need#
- Ability to maintain overnight safety and uphold community standards.
- Availability to work an average of 15 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work alternating weekend hours.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with professional staff.
- Preferred majors include Criminal Justice, Communications, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027.
- Compensation: $14 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
