About the role#
Duquesne University is hiring a Graduate Assistant for the University Sustainability Committee. This position runs for 9 months, from August 24, 2026, to May 9, 2027. You will work 15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, reporting directly to the Chair of the USC. This is a paid position that includes a tuition scholarship and a stipend.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Chair and committee members with organizing, marketing, and hosting events.
- Attend monthly USC meetings and record notes.
- Maintain the Campus Produce Garden alongside the Gardens and Greenspaces Working Group.
- Design and distribute promotional materials like posters and event calendars.
- Track and record sustainability metrics for reports, including the STARS Report and the Greenhouse Gas Report.
- Meet weekly with the Chair to review progress and tasks.
- Collaborate with the Division of Marketing and Communications to keep the sustainability website updated.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the Environmental Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Canva design and the Canvas platform.
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including students, faculty, and staff.
