Duke Arts is seeking an Administrative Intern to support the Duke Arts Create program and the Arts+ summer initiative. This role involves coordinating workshops, managing artist logistics, and supporting general office operations. You will work closely with students, faculty, administrators, and visiting artists to facilitate campus and student engagement.
What you'll do#
- Provide program coordination for the Duke Arts Create workshop season and the Arts+ summer program.
- Assist with scheduling artists, managing space reservations, and maintaining paperwork for artist honorariums.
- Handle the purchasing, maintenance, and organization of workshop supplies.
- Facilitate workshops, including setup, cleanup, and participant check-in.
- Support the student application process for the Arts+ program and develop cohort schedules.
- Collaborate on marketing and communications efforts, including newsletter creation and promotional content.
- Perform general office duties to support the Duke Arts team.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in an arts practice field or a relevant humanities discipline.
- At least two years of directly related experience in event management or student organization leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups, including students, faculty, and artists.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving needs.

- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
