About the role#
As an EHS Intern, you will support the Site or Regional EHS Manager in maintaining safety and environmental standards. You will work on-site in Coxsackie to ensure daily activities follow the site Environmental Health and Safety Plan. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with safety and environmental compliance tasks.
- Help conduct incident investigations and distinguish between near misses and first aid cases.
- Manage environmental compliance documentation, including hazardous waste records, wastewater reports, storm water plans, air quality reporting, and chemical usage reports.
- Collect and analyze EHS data for quality and report your findings to management.
- Conduct EHS training and orientation for new and current employees.
- Participate in monthly facility safety committee meetings.
- Perform safety inspections and track corrective actions until they are finished.
- Assist with company training programs and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience navigating ERP systems.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A team-oriented approach focused on continuous improvement.
