Lean Engineer Internship

About the role#

The Lean Engineer Intern will join the Operations team at the Litchfield, Illinois distribution center to help lead efficiency improvement projects. This role focuses on researching process improvements within warehouse and production cells and assisting in the rollout of the Dometic Production System.

What you'll do#

• Redesign the GEMBA process within operations.
• Perform Value Stream Mapping.
• Lead at least one Kaizen or 6S event during the summer.
• Complete and present cost-benefit and labor-saving analyses for projects.
• Develop project plans and communicate status, issues, and ideas to project owners.
• Train employees on the Dometic Production System.
• Utilize software including Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Data Science, or Mathematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced mathematical and statistical reasoning skills.
• Experience with or knowledge of data visualization and warehouse operations.
• A basic understanding of cost-benefit analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
