About the role#
As a Co-op Digital Transformation student, you will support the Operations Engineer Manager in Richmond, British Columbia. This role focuses on investigating, analyzing, and implementing process improvements to reduce costs by transitioning design, production, and quality processes into digital records. You will work directly with engineers and shop floor staff to eliminate paper-based systems and develop dashboards to improve data traceability and root cause analysis.
What you'll do#
- Review engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and quality control documents to create digital records.
- Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement and determine potential solutions.
- Supervise projects, monitor status, and report on progress to ensure timely implementation.
- Utilize data science and UX principles to build dashboards for electronic record tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital transformation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program at a Canadian accredited university.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate and integrate expertise across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience or knowledge working in CAD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
