Co-op Quality Engineer

About the role#

The Co-op Quality Engineer role is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2025 term based in Richmond, British Columbia. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this role involves supporting the development of connected systems and manufacturing processes. You will work on-site, contributing to projects that align with your skillset and interests while gaining exposure to both product development and manufacturing operations.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot field failure products returned under warranty.
• Lead and execute Continuous Improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Enhance automated data reporting methods using SQL or Power Query.
• Assist engineers in developing work procedures and instructions using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Forms.
• Improve existing measurement techniques and conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
• Support the installation of new measuring equipment and optimize inspection processes.
• Develop and refine dashboards to visualize operational performance and quality trends.
• Automate repetitive data tasks and contribute to fixture design.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering program, or Data Science, at an accredited university.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data query tools (SQL, Power Query, Power Automate), programming/database development, and Power BI is considered an asset.
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
