About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site to help acquire new business opportunities in the Tyler and Athens, Texas areas. You will learn the sales process from start to finish, including prospecting, managing a sales funnel, and closing deals.
What you'll do#
- Prospect new clients and manage your own sales funnel.
- Learn various sales methods, including cold calling, door-to-door sales, and presentations.
- Develop and test creative sales strategies to meet individual and team targets.
- Assess customer needs and perform cost-benefit analyses for equipment and software solutions.
- Maintain and grow a client database for your assigned territory.
- Research sales leads and keep consistent communication with prospects.
- Attend training sessions, sales meetings, and events.
- Use data to provide feedback and insights to management.
- Work with IT, software, and print specialists to identify opportunities.
What you'll need#
- An outgoing personality and a willingness to learn.
- Strong skills in prospecting, planning, communication, and negotiation.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in or completion of a degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver license.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Knowledge of IT, software, or print solutions is a plus.
