About the role#
DNV is offering a winter internship for the period of January 2027 through March 2027. This position lasts approximately 8-10 weeks and provides a broad technical foundation within the maritime industry. You will work alongside our surveyors and technical employees to gain hands-on experience in the field. This is a paid, full-time, on-site opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Participate in voyage surveys and field service.
- Shadow expert surveyors to gain technical and inspection experience.
- Work within various relevant technical disciplines.
- Become acquainted with the DNV company culture and organization.
- Travel to survey sites and manufacturing plants aboard marine vessels.
- Perform tasks including climbing ladders, entering tanks, and working in confined spaces or harsh climates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at the Junior or Senior level in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Logistics.
- A current valid driver's license.
- A current TWIC card or the ability to obtain one by the start of the assignment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical job functions, including climbing and working in confined spaces.
- Flexibility with work schedules for on-board vessel or field service duties.
- Willingness to travel.
