About the role#
DNV is offering a winter internship for the period of January 2027 through March 2027. This 8-10 week program provides a foundation in the maritime industry by exposing students to the daily work life of surveyors and technical employees. You will work within relevant technical disciplines and expand your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Shadow expert surveyors to gain technical, inspection, and surveying experience.
- Explore the DNV Maritime organization.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment while working individually on tasks.
- Perform duties that may include voyage surveys, vessel transfers, and work in confined spaces or manufacturing plants.
- Utilize small tools and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marketing, Aerospace Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- A current, valid driver's license.
- A current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Physical ability to climb vertical ladders, enter tanks, and work in harsh climates or on marine vessels.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, service-minded approach with the ability to solve problems creatively.
- Willingness to travel and flexibility regarding work schedules in the field or on-board vessels.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
